Schoenberg: Visions
Schoenberg: Visions explored the intersection of music and the arts through the life Arnold Schoenberg
Arnold Schoenberg was best known for his influential legacy as a composer, but less known is his work as a painter, inventor, teacher, and tennis player. Schoenberg embodies the Magari Ensemble’s values of collaboration innovation, and learning to fuse art and music.
This concert brought his all of his work together in one space.
- live performance of Pierrot Lunaire and the Waltzes for String Orchestra -
- partnership with the Schoenberg Center in Vienna to curate an interactive gallery of his artistic work -
- gallery: manuscripts, teaching materials, portraits, card decks, and Coalition chess -
- interview his son, Larry Schoenberg, in Los Angeles, CA -
- Pierrot Lunaire inspired animated film by Lindsay Browne and Riley Vogel -
This Boston event was generously supported by a grant from New England Conservatory’s Entrepreneurial Musician Department.
In 2024, the world will celebrate the 150th anniversary of this legendary composers birth. The Magari Ensemble is continuing our partnership with the Schoenberg Center in Vienna to bring this man’s life work to audiences across the country.
